Civic Services
"As DHS continues to work with community partners we further Our Vision the people of Hawaii thriving and Our Mission to encourage self-sufficiency and support the well-being of individuals and families through 'Ohana Nui serving multigenerational families."
- Department of Human Services
“A redeveloped Wahiawa Civic Center would provide needed services to low-income pregnant, postpartum & breastfeeding women, infants & children up to age 5 with healthy supplemental foods, breastfeeding support, nutrition education & referral services.”
-The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children
“We currently occupy space at the WCC that is not adequate to accommodate our 9 staff which services 3000 clients/mo. Our building was destroyed by fire on 3/24/20. We use space in the WCC & service clients out of the Wahiawa Public Library Meeting Room.”
-The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants and Children
“It would allow for our program to have a proper nursing station as well as conference room where we can provide behavioral health groups. It would also allow for a bigger reception area”
-Adult Mental Health Division
“It will certainly centralize the governmental agencies that people need and use. SCH/DL services will be enhanced because there will be more counters for the staff. Therefore more services being provided to the constituents.”
-Satellite City Hall and Driver’s License Office
“Wahiawa’s increased community needs have outgrown their office spaces and parking capabilities. The new Center will provide the public and staff a comfortable and spacious office setting; increased parking; and room for future growth.”
